A powerfully profound message and one that I know will resonate with you all as much as it does with me. As part of the path back to wellness, it's so important that we stop internalising our emotions, pushing and stuffing them down. To swallow them, only to find out that they are undigestible! To hold the tension in our bodies as a way of coping, only to see our bodies struggle under the pressure by way of aches, pains, anxiety, depression ( de-press/push down) etc. We teach our children to do the same "don't cry!" "Don't get upset." "Dry your eyes". Society tells us to "keep a stiff upper lip!" I too have been guilty of saying such things in the past but as Maya Angelou once said: "When you know better, you do better!" We are so uncomfortable with the sight of tears,(we want to make it all better as quickly as possible, like a band-aid.) yet they are so powerfully healing! We try to hush and soothe them away instead of allowing the pain to come up and out. We need to know that it's absolutely okay and necessary to cry in order to heal, hold that space for yourself and others. It's a natural expression of emotion, lean into it, no more stuffing it down and suppressing it. This is how we will move through the pain in a healthy way. Give yourself permission to feel, in order to heal. Let the waters flow. 🙏 #healing #healyourbody #getthyroidhealthy #selfcare #holistichealth #honouryourself #heal #youcanheal #youarethehealer #emotion #mindbodyspirit #mindbodyconnection #fibromyalgia #chronicillness
Hearty Bolognese, recipe from the @theculinarygym How beautiful does this look? 😋 I omitted the tempeh and the red wine vinegar from this recipe and replaced the tempeh with both blended and whole butter beans to create that beautiful bolognese texture but also to keep it as healing as possible. This is a perfect winter warming twist on a classic recipe, although in saying that we are currently in the midst of summer here on the sunshine coast! 😎 🥵 Still we lovingly devoured this beautiful dish, with the aircon on to create some authenticity whilst eating it and suddenly felt like we were back in Scotland. 😂😉 .. . Recipe: ½ onion, finely diced 1 carrot, finely diced 5 cremini mushrooms, finely diced 8 oz eggplant, finely diced 2 cups of butter beans 3 cloves garlic, minced 1 cup sun-dried tomatoes, minced 1 cup low-sodium vegetable broth or water 1 teaspoon dried oregano 1 teaspoon dried thyme 12 oz tomato sauce or strained tomatoes, no salt added Directions: In a large sauté pan or skillet over medium heat add the onion, carrot, mushrooms and eggplant. Sauté for a few minutes. Add the garlic, sun-dried tomatoes, vegetable broth, tomato sauce and dried herbs. Stir well to combine, cover and simmer for 10 to 12 minutes until the eggplant is soft. Add in the butter beans. Stir occasionally for even cooking and to prevent vegetables from sticking to the pan. If the sauce becomes too thick, add more water. Remove 1 to 2 ladle's of the sauce and blend for 10 seconds before adding back into the sauce again. This is what gives it texture and extra flavour! 😋 Serve over legume pasta or spiralized vegetables. #plantbased #healingfoods #healyourbody #nonasties #letfoodbethymedicineandmedicinebethyfood #selfcare #healingfoods #getthyroidhealthy #selfcare #medicalmedium #autoimmunecare #autoimmunehealing #health #wellness #plantstrong #plantpowered #thyroid #heal #love #recipes #food

Veggie Spring Rolls 🥒🍅🥬🥕 Ingredients: 10-12 brown rice paper 1/4 small red cabbage, thinly sliced 1 large carrot, cut into matchsticks 3-4 radishes, thinly sliced 1/4 cup fresh cilantro 1/2 English cucumber, cut into matchsticks 1 medium-sized avocado, thinly sliced (optional) 1-2 tsp black or white sesame seeds, for garnish (optional) Dipping sauce: 1/4 cup tahini 2 1/2 tbsp lime juice 1 1/2 tbsp maple syrup 2-3 tbsp water 1/2 inch knob of ginger, finely grated 1 garlic clove, finely grates 1/4 tsp ground cilantro 1/4 tsp ground cumin 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional) 2 tsp coconut aminos (optional) Sea salt, to taste (omit if using coconut aminos) Black pepper, to taste Directions: Make the sauce by putting all the sauce ingredients in a bowl and whisking until smooth and combined. Add water to reach desired consistency. Pour into a serving bowl and set aside. To make the spring rolls, fill a bowl or pan big enough to fit the rice paper with warm water. Soak the rice paper in the water for about 30 seconds - until pliable but not soggy. Place the rice paper on a work surface and arrange the fillings on the 1/3 of the rice paper closest to you. Fold the left and right edges of the rice paper in, then starting from the bottom, roll up to cover the filling. Keep rolling firmly, the rice paper is sticky and will seal itself. Repeat with remaining ingredients. To serve, leave the rolls whole or cut them in half with a sharp knife. Sprinkle with sesame seeds (if using) and serve with the dipping sauce. #getthyoridhealthy #healyourbody #selfcare #nutrition #plants #plantbased #herbs #vegetables #healingfoods #heal #thyroid #autoimmune #fibromyalgia #letfoodbethymedicineandmedicinebethyfood #foodismedicine #medicine #naturesmedicine #plantpowered #plantstrong
Why does modern medicine namely pharmaceuticals fail in making chronic illness's better? Firstly we have to understand the reasons we got sick. When we take a look at how we have evolved over time we can see that we have been primed as a commodity. We go through an education system that grooms us for industry as Dr Kelly Brogan explains "We are ultrasounded in the womb regularly, birthed surgically, formula fed, vaccinated, left by mothers who have a 3 week maternity leave, schooled into a state of near-irreversible brain-washing while being microwaved by 5g networks. As adults, we work jobs that mean nothing and take everything and engage in relationships that could never possibly heal all of the unexamined wounds we bring to them, all while swimming in a bath of chemicals. The true scope of our wandering from the path of right living is obscured by multi-billion- dollar industries that are invested in meeting our primary needs with superficial satisfactions." This is without touching on the issue of the poisons in our environment, our food, water and air. The GMO's and processing of our "foods" and phamaceutical exposures. Our sensitivity (which many of us with chronic illness have.) highlights all the areas in which we are out of alignment, its a gift that lights the path back to health reclamation not only for ourselves but for others. Our pain and suffering IS the sign that something is off. We are responding on a mind, body and soul level to the wrongness of our lived experiences and as such we need to stop and listen. Our spirit is rejecting a lifestyle that prizes productivity, linear thinking, measurable achievement and relentless application of will to subdue any obstacle. Our mind and body are very much connected. Our symptoms can be seen as representing the imbalance related to lifestyle exposures which interact with our genes, such as stress, food, sleep, chemical exposures and to our beliefs around the power we have in creating our lives. We have to understand that synthetic drugs cannot fix the mind, body and spirit, we are not machines to be manipulated. Cont below ⬇⬇⬇
